Teenager missing after attending a ball in Tyrol

A huge search for a young local man had been underway in the Tyrolean municipality of Gallzein (Schwaz district) since Saturday morning. The 17-year-old had not returned home after a ball. In the evening, the sad news: the boy is dead. 

According to initial information, the 17-year-old had gone to a ball organized by a local club on Friday evening. However, the teenager did not return home after the event. According to the police, the boy's trail was lost at around 3 am.

A large-scale search operation was launched with several fire departments, police forces and mountain rescuers. A drone with a thermal imaging camera was also used, as well as a police helicopter and search dogs.

Crashed into a wooden silo
The sad news came in the evening: emergency services found the teenager dead in the area of a sawmill at around 5 pm. According to the police, the 17-year-old is believed to have fallen into a wooden silo and sustained fatal injuries. Further investigations are underway.
