Boys (12, 16) threatened girl with a knife

Two boys - 12 and 16 years old - allegedly threatened a 16-year-old girl with a folding knife at Steyr railroad station and demanded money and cigarettes from her. A short time later, the two friends were found by the police in Linz and the 16-year-old was taken to prison.

A 16-year-old Hungarian from Traun and his twelve-year-old friend from Schwanenstadt were stopped by a police patrol at Linz main station at around 7.20 pm on Friday. The two were wanted as suspects after a 16-year-old girl from Ternberg was assaulted at Steyr station shortly after 6 pm.

Spotted on camera
Two strangers initially held a knife to her and forced her to hand over cigarettes and cash. They then fled on the train to Linz. The victim immediately filed a complaint and after viewing the CCTV footage, the police officers in Styria passed on the description to their colleagues in Linz.

Folding knife found in the dustbin
They came across the two men on the platform and found a folding knife in a dung bin, which could have been the murder weapon. It was seized and examined for traces. The victim recognized the two men from photos. By order of the Linz public prosecutor's office, the 16-year-old suspect was taken to Linz prison. The loot amounted to five euros.
