Truck driver was on the road for almost 20 days straight

Complete madness on the Tauernautobahn! A 45-year-old truck driver who had been on the road almost continuously for 20 days with an articulated truck was stopped by Salzburg police on the Tauern highway (A10) near Kuchl on Saturday. 

The patrol had noticed the articulated lorry because the driver kept driving onto the hard shoulder. After a negative alcohol test, the officers looked at the driving and rest times and discovered the massive violation. In addition, the truck was overloaded by more than 1.3 tons, the police reported.

Partly driving without a driver card inserted
The Italian professional driver had been driving partly with and partly without a driver card inserted. In addition, the man did not have the winter equipment required for the vehicle in Austria.

The Italian was banned from continuing his journey. He was reported to both the Salzburg public prosecutor's office and the Hallein district authority.
