Drugged driver drove away from the police

Full of drugs, a driver had a "chase" with the police in Linz on Sunday night. The 45-year-old only gave up after he demolished a tire on the curb. Unsurprisingly, the officers found a bag of crystal meth in the car.

A Linz traffic patrol wanted to check a car driver at around 10.50 p.m. on Saturday because he was crossing the traffic lights at the junction of Wiener Straße and Salzburger Straße on a red light. The police officers followed the driver out of town on Salzburger Straße. When the blue light was switched on and a clear stop signal was given, the driver suddenly accelerated.

Through the 30 zone at 100 km/h
He turned into Schumannstraße without indicating this and then accelerated the car to over 100 km/h at the permitted 30 km/h. At a junction, he collided with a curb, damaging the right front tire to such an extent that the air leaked out completely. He then stopped the vehicle in Schumannstraße.

Crystal meth was in the car
During the personal and vehicle check, the police officers seized two pipes for smoking crystal meth and a sticky bag containing crystal meth. In addition, the 45-year-old from the Linz-Land district showed signs of being impaired by addictive substances. The voluntary urine test was also positive for several substances. 

Banned from continuing his journey
As a result, he was asked to undergo an official medical examination, which he refused to undergo after being instructed several times. He was prohibited from continuing his journey and will be reported to the police.
