Johannes Aujesky races to the podium in San Candido

Johannes Aujesky made his second World Cup podium in ski cross in San Candido on Friday. After a somewhat botched start, the Lower Austrian finished in third place.

The German Florian Wilmsmann celebrated his third World Cup victory ahead of the Frenchman Youri Duplessis Kergomard. Adam Kappacher, most recently winner in Val Thorens, and Johannes Rohrweck were both eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Aujesky had also achieved his first podium finish last February in Alleghe with third place. Austria was not represented in the women's race, with Daniela Maier also taking victory in Germany. There will be one more race on Saturday.
