Jane Seymour: “The whole house smells of smoke”

Actress Jane Seymour (73) and her family had to be evacuated due to the forest fires in Malibu. The firefighters did an incredible job, she said. "We are just so grateful."

Late Monday night, her partner's son called her and asked her to leave the house. "We all got out in time because of it," said the famous actress. She had been wearing the same jeans and sweater for four days.

"The whole house smells of smoke. But we're just so grateful," said the 73-year-old. Standing where she lives, looking up the hill and seeing that the fire had come very close to every house, she said it was actually incomprehensible that so few buildings had burned. For those who had lost everything, it was terrible.

The fire was a reminder of strength, courage, resilience and compassion in difficult times, Seymour wrote on Instagram. The courage of the firefighters was "extraordinary". She also posted several pictures of her house, smoke and firefighting work.

The actress is from the UK, but has lived in the USA for a long time. She is known from the TV series "Dr. Quinn" and once played a Bond girl in "James Bond 007 - Live and Let Die".
