Skiers collided: man (60) seriously injured

The rescue helicopter had to be deployed to the glacier in the Tyrolean Pitztal on Friday. A Polish skier (52) and a German skier (60) collided at the intersection of two ski slopes. The 60-year-old was seriously injured.

The accident occurred shortly before 12 noon. The 52-year-old and the 60-year-old were skiing on a red and a black slope respectively. "There was a collision at the intersection of the two ski slopes," said the police.

To hospital by helicopter
The 60-year-old suffered serious injuries to his head. The piste rescue team provided first aid to the German. He was then flown to Zams Hospital by rescue helicopter.
