Kilde emotional: “Believe me, I’m soaking it up!”

After his serious injury on the Lauberhorn in mid-January, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has ventured back onto the slopes(as reported by "Krone") and is emotional afterwards. Being back on skis after his long period of suffering means everything to the Norwegian: "Believe me, I'm soaking it up," is his message. 

The surprise was huge when Kilde was suddenly back on skis before the viewing at the downhill in Beaver Creek. The period of suffering following his serious injury and subsequent infection in his left shoulder, which necessitated another operation, has clearly left its mark on the Norwegian's body.

When will he make his comeback?
However, this year was also a major mental challenge for the overall World Cup winner of the 2019/20 season. In a video on Instagram, he made it clear how much the return to the slopes moved him. In the video, which shows him making his first cautious turns, Kilde wrote: "The doctor gave me permission to ski around a bit. And believe me, I'm soaking it up". 

For the 32-year-old, it is a personal milestone and also a big step towards a possible comeback. However, this is certainly not planned for the current season. The Norwegian outlined his plans in the ORF interview: "Hopefully next season. But everything has to fall into place with operations and rehab. I'll do everything that's possible."
