Unknown persons struck in Hornstein on Wednesday night. There had been a break-in at an elementary school in Kleinhöflein at the beginning of November.

The perpetrators broke open a side door of the building on Wednesday night and then ransacked all the rooms. The burglars were obviously deliberately looking for something specific, suspects Mayor Christoph Wolf.

15,000 euros in damage
He estimates that the total damage amounts to between 10,000 and 15,000 euros. Laptops, telephones and some cash were stolen. He doesn't understand why the school was chosen as a target: "There are virtually no valuables there."

Lessons were canceled
The break-in was discovered on Wednesday morning by the early morning supervisors. Classes were then canceled, most parents picked up their children and the remaining pupils were looked after in the Forsthaus. "Despite the exceptional situation, the communication and organization worked very well - praise to everyone involved," says Wolf. Regular lessons are due to resume on Thursday.

It was only at the beginning of November that the elementary school and coffee house in Kleinhöflein were targeted by burglars.
