Drugged driver caught by police for driving

Following closely, abrupt braking maneuvers, then stepping on the gas again: A driver caught the eye of the police on the Westautobahn (A1) in Salzburg on Wednesday afternoon. The check confirmed the suspicion: the car driver was on drugs. 

Police officers quickly became aware of the driving style: on the Westautobahn (A1) in the direction of Vienna in the Eugendorf area, a car driver attracted attention due to his driving style. He drove close to the vehicle in front, was unable to stay in lane, braked abruptly and then accelerated his car again.

The officers stopped the man and checked him. According to the police, there were various symptoms that indicated that he was impaired by addictive substances. After a positive saliva test, he was taken to the district doctor, who determined that he was unfit to drive due to drug impairment.

The driver's license was temporarily confiscated and he was prohibited from continuing to drive. He will be reported to the relevant authorities.
