At a club in crisis: is Wimmer hiring in Germany?

Since leaving Austria, Michael Wimmer has been looking for a new employer and could now perhaps find one in Germany. Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth are in a deep crisis in the Bundesliga 2 - and Wimmer was already in the stadium for the home game. 

It was an anemic performance by Fürth that Wimmer witnessed on Saturday. They suffered a 1:5 defeat against relegated Darmstadt in front of their home crowd. Although those close to the 44-year-old immediately emphasized that the former Austria coach's visit was purely private, it set the rumour mill churning.

Wimmer has been without a club since leaving Austria and would therefore be a realistic option for the Germans. And the club is in dire need of help. Their recent record has been disastrous. The ambitious club is in the relegation battle in the league and was recently eliminated in the cup against Regensburg. 

Haas fails to achieve consistency
After losing the Franconian derby against Nuremberg 4-0 at home on October 20, sports boss Rachid Azzouzi and coach Alexander Zorniger were sacked. U23 coach Leonhard Haas was appointed as interim coach. After beating Schalke 4:3 in his first match, the team's form plummeted again recently.

The plan to keep Haas at least until the winter break has probably failed. And stadium guest Wimmer could now become a real alternative. That is, if the team's performance hasn't scared him off ...
