Teen threatens passers-by with a knife in Vienna

Excitement in the center of Vienna! On Friday evening, a 17-year-old teenager allegedly threatened several passers-by with a knife. A witness called the emergency services. When the officers arrived, the suspect also held the weapon in front of them.

The incident took place on Friday at around 6.15 pm on Universitätsring. Several passers-by were threatened with a weapon by the teenager who had gone wild - an emergency call was made. The emergency services were quickly able to stop a conspicuous person in the area. The suspect is said to have turned towards the police officers and pulled a weapon out of his fanny pack. 

Electro-pulse weapon used
The teenager was asked several times to drop the knife, but to no avail. The officers then had to use the electric impulse weapon. 

Boy taken to prison
The 17-year-old was provisionally arrested on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery. The boy was given first aid by the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and taken to hospital. It turned out that the 17-year-old had previously threatened two passers-by with a knife.

He himself did not want to comment on the accusations and was taken to a prison.
