E-biker (88) hit by truck on federal highway

A serious e-bike accident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Westendorf (Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel): When turning onto the main road, a senior citizen on an e-bike was hit by a truck and fell heavily. 

The 88-year-old local man wanted to turn onto the B170 Brixentalstraße from a local road at around 1.45 pm on Thursday. At that moment, a truck driven by a 32-year-old Austrian was traveling on the road. 

The truck and e-bike collided, the cyclist fell and injured himself. After first aid at the scene of the accident, the man was flown by helicopter to St. Johann in Tirol Hospital.
