Workers suffer electric shock on the Kreischberg

Serious accident at work on the Kreischberg on Thursday afternoon: two men were electrocuted while working on a transformer station. A 36-year-old man was seriously injured.

The accident occurred on Thursday at around 3 p.m.: a 36-year-old power engineer was working on the transformer station of a snowmaking system on the popular Murtal ski mountain Kreischberg. According to the police, the system was probably still connected to the power grid. The Styrian was caught in the circuit.

A cable car employee noticed the incident and tried to help the man. The 27-year-old was also caught in the circuit and suffered a blow. The 36-year-old was flown to Graz University Hospital with severe burns. The cable car employee was taken to Stolzalpe Regional Hospital by the ambulance service with injuries of indeterminate severity.
