Missile attack? Oil storage facility in Crimea on fire

According to the local authorities, a fire has broken out in an oil storage facility in the coastal town of Feodosia on Russia's annexed Black Sea peninsula of Crimea. The Ukrainian army speaks of an - apparently successful - missile attack.

The administration appointed by Russia declared a "technical emergency" on Monday. According to official information, there were no casualties. No details were given as to the cause of the fire. However, the Ukrainian military stated that it had attacked an oil facility in Feodosia during the night.

Several fuel tanks on fire
The Telegram news channel "Baza" reported that several fuel tanks were on fire. Residents heard several loud explosions. The columns of smoke over the southern coast of Crimea could be seen from afar.

Night-time air alert over Crimea
There was an air alert over Crimea during the night. Explosions and anti-aircraft fire were reported from the port city of Sevastopol and from the Russian air bases of Belbek and Saki. The Ministry of Defense in Moscow announced that 21 Ukrainian drones were intercepted on Monday night, twelve of which were over Crimea.

In its defense against the Russian invasion, Ukraine is attacking oil facilities behind the front in order to disrupt the enemy's fuel supply. Over the course of the war, Ukraine has repeatedly attacked Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, with unmanned aerial and naval vehicles, damaging or destroying ships, among other things.

Attack on Kiev with hypersonic missiles
For its part, Russia attacked Ukraine with combat drones on Monday. In the morning, Kinschal hypersonic missiles were fired at various targets. According to initial reports, parts of a launched missile crashed over the capital Kiev, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Telegram.
