The mayor of Grödig, Herbert Schober, has to deal with unpleasant insults in the community. His house wall was even graffitied this week.

"Fuck Schober & ÖVP" was written on the wall of the Grödig mayor's house. This is not the first time that the mayor has been the target of verbal abuse. Confusing in this case, because Schober is not even a member of the ÖVP. There have even been anonymous threats.

 "I have to deal with it all the time," says Schober. He has reported the current case to the police. "It's also bad for my family," he explains. For him, a line has been crossed again. This development at municipal level is extremely worrying for him. He had already received several threatening letters in the past. Unknown people had also tampered with his postbox.

Schober has already drawn a first personal conclusion: "I will now retrofit the house with video cameras." There are still no leads on the perpetrator(s). The mayor is hoping for help from the public. "If anyone knows or has seen anything, please report it," says Schober, adding: "You never know what will happen next."
