Russian war as motive for knife attack

Two Ukrainians had a fight in their shared accommodation in Flachau on Monday morning. The younger of the two (25) was taken away injured and the attacker (47) was arrested. The "Krone" reported. Further details of the investigation are now available. 

According to the police, it was probably a political discussion that caused the argument between two Ukrainians to escalate. The two residents of a refugee shelter in Flachau clashed on the morning of Monday yesterday. 

The verbal argument was followed by physical attacks. One of the two, the older suspect aged 47, grabbed two knives from a cutlery drawer during the argument and is said to have seriously injured the younger man on his upper body. 

According to police formations, the injuries were life-threatening. However, the victim is now out of danger and is currently being questioned. According to the police, the accused has confessed so far.

Pro-Russia versus pro-Ukraine
The motive: The two had a heated discussion, probably about the war in Ukraine. It turned out that the older man was strongly pro-Russian and the younger man was pro-Ukrainian. The exchange of words ultimately ended in the knife attack. The investigation into the suspected attempted murder continues.
