Speeding driver “crashed” through 70 km/h zone at 151 km/h

A 39-year-old North Macedonian from Haid (Upper Austria) must have been in a hurry on Saturday evening. He was speeding through a 70 km/h zone in his Mercedes S-Class at more than twice the speed limit and was promptly caught by police officers. His driver's license and car were confiscated.

On Saturday evening, police officers were on the lookout with a laser device on the B1 in the south of Linz. The officers were also amazed when, at around 10.30 p.m., the instrument displayed a whopping 151 km/h instead of the permitted 70 km/h for a car.

"The most powerful S-Class"
The officers were finally able to stop the driver - a 39-year-old from Haid - in the area of Siemensstrasse. The man was driving a Mercedes S-Class AMG, according to the manufacturer "the most powerful S-Class ever" and equipped with over 500 hp.

As he had exceeded the speed limit by more than double, not only was his driver's license confiscated, but the car was also temporarily impounded. The driver will also be charged.
