Armed man robs petrol station: major manhunt

A gunman robbed a petrol station in Haag (Amstetten district) in the early hours of Thursday morning. The man is said to have demanded cash from an employee with the words "Give me money quickly". The perpetrator fled with loot of an initially unknown amount. A police search is underway.

The stranger threatened an employee with a pistol and demanded cash.

Employee suffered severe shock
The police reported in a press release that an immediate search was unsuccessful. The employee was not injured, but suffered a severe shock. Information has been requested from the State Office of Criminal Investigation.

The robber stowed the loot in a black shoulder bag he had brought with him and made off. The State Office of Criminal Investigation took over the investigation.

Perpetrator wore a hooded sweatshirt
The wanted perpetrator is believed to be a man between the ages of 18 and 30. He was wearing a hooded sweater, a peaked cap, trousers and black shoes. Any useful information should be sent to the Lower Austrian Criminal Police Office (Tel.: [phone]).
