Dutchman flees with rental car after burglary

A catering employee (38) of Dutch nationality planned a slightly different way to escape from his life as an employee in Austria. 

The man put his criminal plan into action back in August: First, he stole the master key to the inn where he was employed in Tamsweg. 

The following night, he gained unnoticed access to the business premises and carried out several bank transactions there. He transferred a low five-figure sum to his own account. The man also tried to open the main safe, but failed.

Following the crime, the 38-year-old rented a car from a car dealership in the area, but did not return it as agreed. Instead, he fled abroad with the car.

The man is currently still on the run with the rental car. The police are on the lookout for him.
