Murder trial enters its third round

It's been a long time coming, maybe this time it will finally be good: from Monday, a mother (32) will stand trial in Ried/I. for attempted murder. She is accused of trying to cut the throat of her sleeping husband (40).

But wait: attentive readers might find this story familiar. This is no coincidence - this is not the first time the crime has been tried in court. In fact, this is already the third attempt, after the two previous trials fell through. The first because the jury got it wrong, the second because of an important witness. So now the mysterious story has to be started all over again.

What happened?
On the night of August 2, 2022, the father woke up in bed in his house in St. Florian am Inn with a long cut on his neck. The injured man had screamed for help, but saw no perpetrator. His life was saved thanks to emergency surgery. In the first interrogation, the 32-year-old spoke of self-defense, saying that he had wanted to assault her.

Blame shifted to the daughter
Later, she surprisingly blamed her 13-year-old daughter - according to the prosecution, the "notorious liar" had already come up with four different versions of the crime. The third round of the trial has been scheduled for four days this time - we can only hope that a verdict will be reached that actually holds up.
