ÖFB opponents Norway disappoint against Kazakhstan

Erling Haaland was on the pitch for 90 minutes, but Norway still couldn't get past 0-0 away to Kazakhstan in the Nations League.

Austria's group opponents Norway started their Nations League campaign with a disappointing 0-0 draw in Kazakhstan. On Friday, ManCity goal machine Erling Haaland and Co. made far too little of their clear superiority in Almaty and are already under pressure in their home game against the ÖFB selection on Monday (20:45). The criticism of coach Stale Solbakken will not become any quieter after missing out on the World Cup and European Championship.

Stange prevents Haaland goal
The team led by Haaland, Martin Ödegaard and Alexander Sörloth had considerably more possession and many attempts on goal against the deep-lying world number 109, but only two of them were shots on goal. Haaland should have scored one of them shortly after the restart, but the former Salzburg player only hit the bar instead of the almost empty goal.

"We should have won, we should have won," said Arsenal international Ödegaard after the poor performance. "It's a shame. We play well and keep a clean sheet, but we can't put the ball in the net. It's disappointing."
