Robbers hit victim with their fists

There were two attacks in the Salzburg capital on Sunday night: a Polish man had his shoulder bag snatched from him in Elisabeth-Vorstadt. Four strangers attacked a Syrian man in Liefering. Investigations are underway.

The 42-year-old Pole was suddenly attacked by a stranger shortly before two o'clock in the morning. The man hit his victim with his fist and snatched his bag containing cash and ID cards. He then fled the scene.

Shortly afterwards, an unknown quartet surprised a 22-year-old Syrian man in the Liefering district: the perpetrators threatened him with a knife-like object and demanded money. Because the victim put up a fierce resistance, the attackers fled. The Syrian was taken to Salzburg Regional Hospital with injuries.

The manhunt was unsuccessful in both cases.
