Farm fire cleared up: It was the compressor

A farm in Forstau went up in flames on Friday: Around 200 firefighters were deployed. Alert level four was triggered. The cause of the fire has now been clarified. The fire broke out in the area of a compressor. 

The fire investigators were able to identify the compressor as the source of the fire. It is possible that materials stored there, such as hay, dust and sawdust, ignited or that there was a technical defect. 

Almost 200 firefighters from nine fire departments battled the flames. The supply of extinguishing water was particularly challenging. The damage caused is enormous. It is likely to be around three million euros.
