What should definitely not be missing from the curriculum?

More and more schoolchildren lack basic skills such as tying their shoes or reading the clock. But the curriculum is also neglecting the larger things that adults take for granted. What should children definitely learn at school?

Do you think school prepares a child sufficiently for adult life? What areas are completely missing from the curriculum? What is superfluous? 

Why are our children's basic skills deteriorating? Where does the teacher's job end and where does the parents' job begin? We look forward to your opinions!
