Thriller at the US Open! Longest match in history

What a tennis thriller! Britain's Dan Evans defeated Russia's Karen Khachanov 6:7(6), 7:6(2), 7:6(4), 4:6 and 6:4 in the longest US Open match of the professional era to date and advanced to the second round. 

The match lasted five hours and 35 minutes on Tuesday (local time) in New York, beating the previous record of 5:26 hours set in 1992.

Back then, the Swede Stefan Edberg defeated the American Michael Chang in the semi-finals.

Comeback by Evans
It was also remarkable that Khachanov (ATP no. 22) was already 4:0 up in the fifth set.

But then Evans, who is ranked 184th, took six games in a row to win the match.
