Stolen license plates

Highway service station filmed cheeky fuel thieves

On Sunday morning, a car with four occupants and German license plates stolen in Innsbruck turned up at a highway service station in Pettnau. After refueling, the driver started the car and sped off without paying. 

At 7:23 a.m. on Sunday, a previously unknown driver of a car with a German license plate pulled up at the gas station in Pettnau and started a refueling process. 

After completing the refueling, he failed to pay the fee for the fuel, which amounted to a low three-digit euro amount, and drove off.

The driver was accompanied by three other male persons. The license plate of the car was stolen in Innsbruck.

Based on available video footage, the persons involved in the crime are described as follows:

• Driver: approx. 20 - 30 years old, Eastern European type, slim, approx. 1.80 m tall, dark, short hair, short full beard, dressed in a black visor cap, blue hooded jacket, light blue jeans and black low shoes/sneakers;

• Passenger (got out during the refueling process): Approx. 20 years old, Eastern European type, slim, approx. 1.80 m tall, chin-strap beard, brown, short hair, dressed in light gray hooded sweater, light blue denim pants and black low shoes/sneakers, carrying small, black shoulder bag;

• Passenger in the back seat: male, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt.
