Speeding car stopped at 203 km/h on Tyrolean highway

An Italian sports car was stopped by the police at 203 km/h on the Tyrolean Brenner highway on Saturday. The driver, a 59-year-old Swiss man, had to surrender his driver's license immediately. However, because he was driving a company vehicle, the car was not confiscated.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Saturday, the speedster sped past an unmarked police patrol on the A13 in the municipality of Steinach am Brenner. "A usable speed of 203 km/h was measured," according to the police.

Speeding through roadworks
The 59-year-old Swiss driver also continued to speed through the roadworks on the Lueg bridge. 145 km/h was measured at the permitted speed of 60 km/h. The driver was finally stopped and his driver's license was temporarily confiscated on the spot.
