Another speeding driver’s car confiscated

Once again, an extreme speeding driver has had his car confiscated. In Wels on Sunday night, a 20-year-old was driving at 94 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. However, the car will probably not be auctioned off again, as the vehicle is said to be registered to the mother of the offender.

A civil patrol in Wels carried out speed measurements in the 30 km/h zone at the Wels exhibition center on Sunday night. At around 1.30 a.m., an Audi A5 was measured at a speed of 94 km/h.

30 km/h zone "overlooked"
The 20-year-old driver from Traun immediately admitted the mistake, but according to him, he did not know that it was a 30 km/h zone.

The car, which is registered to the driver's mother, was provisionally confiscated and the 20-year-old's driver's license was temporarily taken away. The car will probably be returned to his mother. The decision will be made by the district authority.
