You might think that a wine festival is a fun event. This only applies to a limited extent to wine merchant Maximilian Zankl's party, where people primarily meet for business.

"People drink better these days. It's no longer just about mirror drinking. It's about enjoyment. And also about discovering something new," says Zankl. The trend in wine choice is towards sparkling wines and white wines. But rosé is also still in high demand.

Zankl tasted the finest wines with international industry colleagues on Monday afternoon in the Rainberghalle in Salzburg City. Business for the upcoming Oktoberfest was also negotiated there.
