This sight takes your breath away: a car plunged down a hill in an accident on Sunday. Just a few meters later, the vehicle got stuck on a tree that didn't look particularly stable. The driver can no longer remember the spectacular accident.

Shortly after seven in the morning on Sunday, a walker became aware of cries for help coming from the forest. It turned out that the night before, a driver (21) had driven off the road in the Wildental area near Lofer. The car then overturned and fell down a slope.

Tree saves lives
Just a few meters further on, a tree prevented possibly worse. It stopped the car. It got stuck upside down on the tree. 

Miraculously, the driver managed to get out of the car on his own before the fire department arrived. However, the young German has no memory of the accident.

He was then flown to hospital in Zell am See. A breathalyzer test the morning after the accident showed 0.8 per mille.

The scene of the accident was secured and the vehicle was recovered with the help of the heavy rescue vehicle. The St. Martin bei Lofer and Saalfelden fire departments recovered the wreckage.
