Hiker flown off the mountain by helicopter after a fall

A hike on Saturday to the Serles in Matrei am Brenner came to a bad end for a 62-year-old local woman. The woman fell and injured her hip. She was flown to hospital.

Together with three other people, the woman was on a hike from the Maria Waldrast pilgrimage site to the 2717-metre-high Serles at around 7.20 am. The adventure came to an abrupt end on a hiking trail.

To hospital by helicopter
She stumbled over a root, fell and injured her right hip. After first aid, the 62-year-old was flown by emergency helicopter to Innsbruck Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
