Moped crashes into car – two teenagers injured

Two 15-year-olds suffered serious injuries in a fatal moped accident in Sautens in the front Ötztal valley on Thursday. There was a collision with a car.

At around 3.30 pm, the 15-year-old from Oberland was riding his moped on a local road in Sautens. A 15-year-old girl from Oberland was also on the moped. At an intersection, the moped collided head-on with a car driven by a 33-year-old local man.

Crashed into the windshield
The moped driver was thrown against the windshield of the car and the girl was thrown from the moped. They suffered serious injuries in the head-on collision and were both taken to Zams Hospital by the ambulance service. The driver of the car remained uninjured.
