Circular hiking trail on the Gaisberg completely open again

Seven days ago, the City of Salzburg announced an extension to the partial closure of the circular hiking trail on the Gaisberg. Today, Wednesday morning, Gaisberg coordinator Florian Kreibich (ÖVP) announced on the social media platform Facebook that the circular hiking trail is open again. 

"Dear friends, the circular hiking trail is open again," says Florian Kreibich (ÖVP) in his Facebook video. The Gaisberg coordinator moves a scissor gate aside and is delighted that the months-long partial closure has now been lifted. 

Fallen trees caused by storms had already led to the closure of the popular excursion destination in December. The restoration and clearing work took a long time. The Koppler side of the circular hiking trail has been closed since then, while the Stadt-Salzburg side has been accessible for some time. 

As of today, the path is completely open again. With the scissor gate in his hand, Kreibich announces the lifting of the closure in his video, wishes all hikers "wonderful hiking fun" and reminds outdoor enthusiasts: "...but please note that the circular hiking trail is and remains an alpine trail."
