There is a high risk of heavy thunderstorms with heavy rainfall from 6 pm, and hail showers are also possible. Temperatures of up to 36 degrees are also forecast for the course of the day.

Initially, no competitions were canceled due to the heat and the storm warning. However, the high temperatures pose a challenge for athletes and fans, especially at venues without shade.

Heavy rainfall had already turned the opening ceremony on Friday into a gigantic water party. They also meant that the Seine is currently too dirty to hold competitions in it as planned. The men's triathlon was therefore canceled on Tuesday and postponed to Wednesday, meaning it will now take place on the same day as the women's triathlon.
