Tyrol: Passenger (84) injured when bus brakes hard

Two passengers fell in a near-collision between a bus and a car in Tyrol on Saturday. One of them, an 84-year-old man, sustained injuries. The car driver drove off. He claims not to have noticed the incident.

The bus was traveling on the Stubaital-Bundesstraße (B183) towards Mieders (Innsbruck-Land district) at around 11.30 am. At the same time, the 31-year-old drove off the Brenner highway and turned onto the B183, according to the police without paying attention to the priority of the bus.

To prevent a collision with the car, the bus driver (24) had to brake hard. "This caused two passengers on the bus to fall", according to the police. An 84-year-old passenger was seriously injured in the fall. The 31-year-old driver drove off without stopping and was stopped by the police in Steinach am Brenner. "He stated that he was unaware of the accident," said the police.
