Renovation work on the Gaisberg continues

Last winter, severe storms caused the popular Gaisberg circular hiking trail to be closed. Since then, it has only been accessible in a reduced form. The city of Salzburg has announced that the closure will be extended further.

It was mainly fallen trees that caused damage to the Gaisberg circular hiking trail last December and January. The damage was apparently so severe that it is still not possible to open the Koppler side. 

However, the side facing the city of Salzburg remains accessible, but hikers still have to do without the popular circular route. Signs provide information about the measures. The summit can be visited as usual. 

The closure was extended until June back in April. Now the city of Salzburg has announced that the end of the renovation work has been postponed again.
