Kickl reveals secret: Federal list approved

The FPÖ approved its federal list for the National Council elections on Wednesday. It comes as no surprise that party leader Herbert Kickl is the top candidate. The list of candidates was drawn up strictly according to the zipper principle: An equal number of men and women are running.

Behind Kickl in second place is Susanne Fürst, followed by General Secretary Christian Hafenecker. Places four to ten belong to Dagmar Belakowitsch, Secretary General Michael Schnedlitz, Barbara Kolm, Alexander Petschnig, Lisa Gubik, Club Director Norbert Nemeth and Rosa Ecker. Also running are Hubert Fuchs, Tina Berger and Walter Rosenkranz, behind whom is former ORF presenter Marie Christine Giuliani, who currently works for "FPÖ-TV".

After the career changer, former ÖBB CFO Arnold Schiefer is listed. Places 16 to 20 are occupied by Katayun Pracher-Hilander, Wendelin Mölzer, Irene Eisenhut, the current Lower Austrian FPÖ party leader Reinhard Teufel and Ricarda Berger.

Kickl: "Prejudice is now history"
"I am convinced that we have the best offer to achieve our goal, not only in terms of content, but also in terms of personnel," commented FPÖ Chairman Kickl on his selection, which was confirmed by the Federal Executive Committee on Wednesday morning. The prejudice that the FPÖ is a male-dominated party is thus "finally history" for Kickl.
