Woman (74) dies after falling into a stream bed while mushroom hunting!

Tragic accident on Monday afternoon in the Tyrolean Oberland: a 74-year-old local woman fell while hunting for mushrooms in the forest and remained lying in the bed of a stream. A passer-by and consequently the emergency services tried to resuscitate the woman. Unfortunately without success.

The 74-year-old pensioner had gone mushroom hunting in a wooded area in Oberhofen (Innsbruck-Land district) on Monday afternoon. "For reasons as yet unknown, the woman fell about 15 meters down the steep terrain and remained lying on her back in a stream bed," said the police.

Another hiker raised the alarm
Another hiker, who happened to be in the same part of the forest, discovered the fallen senior citizen and set the rescue chain in motion shortly before 4 pm. She immediately administered first aid and began resuscitation measures - until the emergency services arrived.

All help came too late for the pensioner
The crew of the emergency helicopter "Martin2" finally continued the resuscitation - but unfortunately it was unsuccessful. The 74-year-old succumbed to her serious injuries at the scene.
