Car driver overlooked motorcycle: biker seriously injured

Serious traffic accident on Weinebenstrasse on Sunday evening: a car driver (22) probably overlooked a motorcyclist. A collision occurred, leaving the biker seriously injured on the road. A little later, a car also collided with a motorcyclist in Ennstal.

At around 5 p.m. on Sunday, a 54-year-old man was driving his motorcycle from Deutschlandsberg on the L 619 Weinebenstraße in the direction of Carinthia. 

Suddenly, a 22-year-old car driver drove onto the road, probably overlooked the biker and collided with him. The 54-year-old was thrown from the motorcycle and lay seriously injured on the road. 

The man was flown to Graz Regional Hospital by rescue helicopter and had to be put into artificial deep sleep. 

Without helmet and license
Around an hour and a half later, there was also a collision between a car and a motorcycle near Schladming (Liezen district). A 55-year-old car driver was driving uphill on Rohrmooserstraße when a motorcyclist suddenly came shooting out of a side road, presumably at excessive speed according to the police. 

The vehicles collided and the 19-year-old motorcyclist - who was not wearing a helmet - was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries. His motorcycle (trial) was not licensed for traffic.
