Protection "I'll protect you!"

Next to "I love you", the three most beautiful words in the world. Protecting someone in an emergency situation - from the criminal, the bullying pupil, the beating husband.

Every day, thousands put on their uniforms and protect others. Police officers catch bullets, firefighters run in where others run out, paramedics patch up the wounded even when everything around them is in ruins.

Then there are the staff in women's shelters, youth facilities, emergency shelters, crisis centers, foster families and many more.

Offering protection when others are going through the worst moments of their lives. A noble act and courageous too.

When someone is in need of care and I open my home to help, I don't expect much. I don't want a thank you letter or a gift basket, not even a promise to do the same in a similar situation. I just want the person seeking protection to appreciate what I do for them. They should not smash my furniture, burn down my kitchen out of malice, steal my watch or harass my friends.

People seeking protection from other countries who roam our streets armed with knives, robbing, beating or committing even worse crimes are not really looking for protection.

Let's finally kick these men out!
