Tyrolean man strangled and robbed by youths

There were probably wild scenes in Telfs (Innsbruck-Land district) on Wednesday evening. A 24-year-old local man was attacked by a group of youths and then robbed. A manhunt was eventually successful.

The 24-year-old had clashed with the group of youths in Telfs at around 9 pm. After a verbal argument, members of the group threatened the man. A short time later, he was choked by one of the youths.

The main perpetrators were a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old Austrian national.

The 24-year-old remained lying injured on the ground. The youths then stole his wallet and games for a games console. The robbed man called the emergency services himself. A search by several police patrols was immediately launched and was successful. The police were able to find and arrest the youths in the center of Telfs.

Perpetrators only 13 and 14 years old
"The main perpetrators were a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old Austrian citizen," said the police. The stolen goods were recovered. The police also seized a cell phone video that was recorded during the crime.

The 24-year-old was taken to hospital in Hall in Tirol by the ambulance service with serious injuries. Charges will be filed once the investigation has been completed.
