Spain hopes for a sporting history Sunday

Sunday, July 14, 2024, could be a historic sporting day for Spain. The Spanish national soccer team will play England in the EURO final for their fourth European Championship title and Carlos Alcaraz will battle tennis legend Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final for his fourth major title.

Spain captain Álvaro Morata is hoping for a double title party with Alcaraz. "I hope that Sunday will be a memorable day for the whole of Spain. We will support you wholeheartedly and, as you always say, we both know what it takes to win," Morata said in a video shared by UEFA. "I hope to see you next week in Madrid and celebrate together."

The 21-year-old tennis star also commented in a UEFA video. "You are playing a perfect European Championship. I followed it from the first game to the semi-final, I suffered with you and supported you," said the three-time Grand Slam tournament winner. "I hope Sunday will be a special day for everyone and I'm sure it will be for you."
