Boeing 737-800 tire bursts on take-off

During the take-off of an American Airlines plane, there was another dicey incident involving a Boeing aircraft in the US state of Florida: Shortly before it was due to take off, the tire burst. The take-off had to be aborted. 

This latest incident in the series of breakdowns is unlikely to increase confidence in the aircraft manufacturer: the 737-800 aircraft was just about to take off from Tampa Airport on Wednesday when the tire blew out. In a video published on YouTube, you can see flames and debris being thrown onto the runway.

Aircraft had already accelerated to 180 km/h
The aircraft is said to have already accelerated to around 180 kilometers per hour when the tire burst, as reported by Flightradar24. The take-off was aborted immediately and fire engines rushed to the runway. At the time of the incident, 174 passengers and six crew members were on board, no one was injured. The passengers had to continue their journey on an alternative flight.

Airline apologizes for "mechanical problem"
American Airlines explained: "American Airlines Flight 590 from Tampa (TPA) to Phoenix (PHX) experienced a mechanical issue on the runway prior to takeoff. Passengers were able to safely exit the aircraft and were bussed to the terminal. We do not wish to disrupt our customers' travel plans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
