Czech man crashed with his paraglider

A recreational sportsman had to be transported by helicopter to Schwarzach Hospital in Werfenweng on Tuesday. He had crashed with his paraglider.

The emergency services were called out to an air accident in the midday hours on Tuesday. A 50-year-old paraglider pilot from the Czech Republic sustained injuries in Werfenweng. He had taken off with his paraglider from the Bischlinghöhe take-off site in the direction of the Zaglau landing site.

According to his own statements, he lost height during the landing approach due to turbulence, grazed a treetop and crashed into a steep slope from a height of around 15 meters. The Czech was flown by helicopter to the Cardinal Schwarzenberg Hospital in Schwarzach.
