Motorcyclist dies in collision with car

A serious traffic accident on Saturday afternoon in Lungau claimed one life. The victim was a 21-year-old local man.

A motorcycle and a car crashed into each other on the L225 in Lungau on Saturday afternoon. The local motorcyclist (21) had entered the oncoming lane on a right-hand bend on a crest. He was thrown from the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

A couple on vacation from the Netherlands were in the car. Expert Gerhard Kronreif investigated the scene of the accident on behalf of the public prosecutor's office. The Tamsweg fire department set up a roadblock. The road was closed for about an hour.
