Boy (2) bitten in the face by family dog

A two-and-a-half-year-old boy had to be taken to Villach Regional Hospital with injuries on Saturday because he was bitten by the family dog.

At around 2 p.m., the toddler was playing in the hallway on the first floor of his parents' home in the Villach-Land district - with his mother (31), his grandmother and the family dog. The dog was a Pinscher.

"The boy was walking behind the dog without touching it when the dog suddenly turned around and bit the boy on the face," the Carinthia Provincial Police Directorate described the incident.

Although the dog immediately let go of the boy, the child still had to be taken to hospital by the ambulance. Meanwhile, the grandmother took the Pinscher outside to the kennel.
