Dispute over alpine pasture continues

In the inheritance dispute over the Mayrhofalm in Werfenweng, Josef Schwaiger (ÖVP), the provincial councillor for agriculture, has now also had to take a stand. However, his answers did not satisfy Green politicians and the Seidl family.

An inheritance dispute between brothers, lengthy court cases and a surprising expropriation - the "Krone" reported on Peter Seidl's battle for the Mayrhofalm in Werfenweng. Now it is entering the next round. Salzburg state politics is involved.

Inquired about land register deletion by chance
Simon Heilig-Hofbauer (Greens) asked Josef Schwaiger (ÖVP), the provincial councillor for agriculture, how the highly complex loss of the mountain pasture could have come about. The decisions had been made appropriately and the legal opinions of the agricultural authority had always been well-founded. Shredded files on the transfer of the family's farm from 1995 had been properly destroyed.

"None of the answers are satisfactory," said Heilig-Hofbauer. Seidl and his family were also unable to understand the views of the Agricultural Council. For example, as incorrectly mentioned in the reply from the Schwaiger office, the family knew nothing about the sudden deletion of his shares from the land register for a long time. The family found out by chance and appealed.

Lawyer also demands alpine hut
A few weeks ago, Peter Seidl received another letter. The brother's lawyer, who now also represents the alpine community, now also wants Peter Seidl's alpine hut. The hut, which he had lovingly renovated, was to be handed over to the community immediately. Because it belongs to them, not the Seidl family.
