Blind woman hit by car, boy (8) hit by car

Two accidents in which people were hit by cars occurred in the Tyrolean capital and in Schwendt (Kitzbühel district). The victims were a blind woman and an eight-year-old boy. The child had to be flown to hospital by helicopter.

The first accident occurred on Wednesday between 1 and 2 pm. The blind woman, aged 79, was walking along a sidewalk in Ing. Etzel-Straße. Suddenly, a car ran over her left foot with a tire. "The driver, who was presumably accompanied by a child and a dog, got out and handed the woman a note with his details after the woman told the driver that she was uninjured," the police said.

On Thursday, the senior citizen felt pain and was taken to hospital. As she lost the note, the police are asking the driver or witnesses to contact them on 059133/7591

The rescue chain was immediately initiated by helpers rushing to the scene. The child was flown to Traunstein Hospital.

The second accident occurred on Thursday at around 8 am. A 32-year-old woman was driving her car on the municipal road in Unterschwendt towards the center of Schwendt. "An eight-year-old German boy ran into the road near an accommodation facility and was hit by the vehicle." The boy was seriously injured. He was flown to the hospital in Traunstein.
