Exposed by video: “victim” faked robbery

A 77-year-old Tyrolean man is facing charges. The reason: according to the police, the man is said to have faked a robbery. The police came to this conclusion after analyzing video footage.

The 77-year-old had told the police that he had been the victim of a robbery on June 8 at around 4 p.m. while traveling on the Stubai Valley Railway in the direction of Mutters. Two men and a woman had harassed him and snatched his wallet. He also stated that the trio had tried to tear his necklace off his neck. 

After further investigations and viewing video surveillance, it is assumed that the robbery was faked by the victim.

Video surveillance analyzed
Extensive investigations followed. Initially, it was assumed that the alleged perpetrators were two men of Arab origin and a local woman. 

However, the police have now announced that "after further investigations and viewing video surveillance, it is assumed that the robbery was faked by the victim". The 77-year-old will be charged.
